A treasury account is a place where your organization holds money — a bank current account, a petty-cash register, an Algérie Poste CCP account, or an electronic wallet. Every receipt, payment, and transfer moves money into or out of one of these accounts, and each one keeps a running balance that feeds your overall cash position.
Creating an Account
- Open Treasury → Accounts in the sidebar.
- Click New.
- Fill in the details:
- Code — A short, unique identifier (for example
BNA-DZD-01orTILL-01). Used for quick lookup and on documents. - Name — The full display name (for example “BNA — Main current account” or “Main till”).
- Account Type — The kind of facility (see the table below). Choosing a type pre-fills the SCF reference code for you.
- Currency — The currency the account holds, for example DZD. This cannot be changed later — create a separate account if you need another currency.
- SCF Account Code — A reference code used for reporting only. It defaults from the account type (Bank 512, Cash 53, CCP 514); change it if your chart of accounts differs.
- Opening Balance — The amount the account already held the day you enter it into Beelocity, for example 4,250,000.00 DA. Leave it at 0 if the account is new. Beelocity records it for you so the balance is correct from day one.
- Opening Balance Date — The date that opening balance applies to (defaults to today).
- Code — A short, unique identifier (for example
- For bank accounts, add the bank details — Bank Name, Branch, RIB (your 20-digit Algerian bank-account identifier), IBAN, and SWIFT/BIC. Leave these blank for cash or e-wallet accounts.
- Set the overdraft options if the bank allows the account to go negative — turn on Allow Negative Balance and enter an Overdraft Limit (for example 2,000,000.00 DA). Cash accounts can never go negative.
- Optionally mark the account as the Default for Currency (pre-selected on new receipts and payments in that currency) and add Notes.
- Click Save.
Note: A non-zero opening balance in a foreign currency needs an exchange rate on file for the opening date. If you see a message about a missing rate, add the rate first, then create the account.

Account Lifecycle
Each account has a status that controls whether it can take new movements:
| Status | Meaning | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Open | Active — accepts receipts, payments, and transfers | Record movements, freeze, close |
| Frozen | Temporarily suspended — no new movements | Unfreeze, or view history |
| Closed | Retired permanently (requires a zero balance) | View history only |
You change the status with the actions in the ⋯ (more actions) menu on the account’s page.
Freezing an account
Freeze an account when it is under dispute or held pending a bank change. Open the account, choose Freeze, and it moves to Frozen — no new receipts, payments, or transfers can post against it, but the balance and full history are kept. Choose Unfreeze to return it to Open.
Closing an account
Closing is permanent. Before you can close an account, its balance must be zero — sweep any remaining funds to another account with an internal transfer first. Then open the account, choose Close, and confirm. A closed account can never reopen or take new movements; its history stays available for audit.
Setting a Default Account
Mark one account as the default for each currency so it is pre-selected when you create a new receipt or payment. Only one account can be the default per currency — when you set a new default, clear the previous one first.
The accounts list narrows on its filter button by Type, Currency, Status, Default, Active or a Balance band (Working with lists).
Editing an Account
Open the account and click Edit to update its name, bank details, overdraft settings, default flag, notes, and active toggle. A few fields are fixed once the account exists: the currency, the opening balance, and the opening balance date.
Deleting vs. Closing
You can delete an account only while it has no history — that is, before any opening balance, receipt, payment, or transfer has been recorded against it. Once an account has any movement, it can’t be deleted; close it instead so its balance trail is preserved.
Tips
- Use clear codes — short, memorable codes like
BNA-DZD-01make accounts easy to find and recognize on documents. - Set a default per currency — if you work in DZD and EUR, set one default for each so new receipts and payments pick the right account.
- Record opening balances accurately — the opening balance anchors every future balance, so enter it as of a known date.
- Freeze before closing if unsure — freezing is reversible; closing is not.
- Keep zero-balance accounts closed — a closed account is your audit trail. Create a new account if a bank relationship resumes.
